Privacy policy

What personal data portalmadrid collects, why, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it.

Last updated: 1 June 2026

This policy explains what personal data portalmadrid ("we", "us") collects, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have. We aim to collect as little as possible and to be straight with you about it.

To complete before launch: the data controller is [YOUR NAME / LEGAL ENTITY], contactable at hola@portalmadrid.com. Replace this note with your real registered details.

What we collect and why

  • Newsletter sign-ups. When you subscribe we store your email address, the fact that you gave consent, the page you signed up from, and the date. We use this only to send you the updates you asked for. Legal basis: your consent.
  • Contact messages. When you use our contact form we store the name (if given), email address, subject and message you send, plus the date. We use this only to read and reply to your message. Legal basis: your consent and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.
  • Analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-first and does not use cookies or build a profile of you. It gives us aggregate, anonymised figures (such as page views and referrers) so we can see what's useful. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the site.
  • Technical logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may process technical data such as IP addresses transiently to deliver the site securely and prevent abuse. We do not use this to identify you.

Cookies

We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking, and we do not run third-party advertising or social tracking pixels. Any cookies set are strictly necessary for the site to function.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links are affiliate links and are routed through our own /go/ redirect, which counts aggregate clicks (a simple tally, with no personal data attached). When you follow such a link you leave our site and the destination's own privacy policy applies to anything they collect.

Who we share data with

We don't sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the site — currently Cloudflare, which hosts the site and stores our data. Any email-sending provider we add in future will be listed here. Providers may process data outside your country under appropriate safeguards.

How long we keep it

We keep newsletter data until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it. We keep contact messages for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and a reasonable period afterwards, then delete them.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law (including the EU/Spanish GDPR), you can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data, object to or restrict its use, and withdraw consent at any time — unsubscribing from emails is always one click. To exercise any of these, email hola@portalmadrid.com. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority; in Spain that is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD).

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the date at the top when we do.
